Dr. Scott Boden
In addition to serving in his innovation role for Emory Healthcare, Dr. Boden is a tenured professor of orthopaedic surgery at the Emory University School of Medicine, serves as the chair of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, director of Emory Orthopaedics and Spine Center and chief medical officer/chief quality officer of the Emory University Orthopaedics and Spine Hospital. His body of nationally recognized research in orthopaedics particularly relates to bone growth and tissue regeneration. Dr. Boden has built upon his research with patented innovations and provided the vision and impetus for multiple projects, companies and initiatives spun out of Emory and beyond.
Dr. Boden has been the catalyst for creative, long-term partnerships between Emory and several professional sport organizations. In addition, he started the Emory Healthcare Innovation Hub, focusing on accelerating digital advances into the healthcare workflow with a number of strategic partners.
Dr. Julie Hollberg
Julie Hollberg, MD is the chief medical information officer for Emory Healthcare and associate professor, Division of Hospital Medicine, Department of Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine. In addition to rounding as a hospitalist, Dr. Hollberg provides medical direction and governance for the electronic medical record, patient portal and related clinical applications. Her focus is increasing collaboration between frontline clinicians and Emory Healthcare Information Services as they use healthcare technology to improve patient care and bring joy back to clinical practice.
Over the past several years, Dr. Hollberg has led the implementation of a program within Emory Healthcare to facilitate innovation in interoperability by connected patients’ data to their chosen consumer applications and advancing the development of apps to enhance workflow and improve patient care.

Elizabeth Sprouse
Elizabeth Sprouse, MPH, founder of Double Lantern Informatics, has spent more than 20 years with one professional goal in mind – to do incredible work that makes a difference in the lives of others. As she has traversed her way through a career working alongside remarkable people, learning at every turn and focusing – always – on what is right and good, she has refined her skills to be a valuable partner in healthcare informatics. Her team collaborates with clinical and public health clients to provide informatics solutions – program development, project management, strategic planning, communications and technology training to advance change – emphasizing the importance of local capacity building so teams feel supported in sustaining newly launched initiatives going forward.
Elizabeth received her public health training at Emory University Rollins School of Public Health, where she received a Master’s in Public Health, Applied Public Health Informatics, and now serves as affiliated faculty back in the program.
