Lorena Molina-Irizarry serves as Director of Operations at the Census Open Innovation Labs (COIL) within the U.S. Census Bureau; bringing together technologists, government and communities through open tech collaboration tapping into the power of open data for good. In this capacity she also managed strategic partnerships with Big in support of the 2020 Census.
Previously, she served as the Deputy Chief of National Partnerships, engaging and collaborating with national and local stakeholders in industry, tech community and the third sector increasing data use and awareness of open data, leading to the 2020 Census and beyond. She previously served as the Technology Communications Liaison for the CIO, leading technology and innovation communications efforts at the Census Bureau. She has also been instrumental in developing and implementing innovation strategies, strategic workforce planning initiatives and civic digital talent pipelines for government.

Ashley is dedicated to moving quickly and efficiently to find the best solution within tight time frames, keeping multi-stakeholder projects on track and maintaining momentum for new initiatives. She focuses on startup design and strategic corporate acceleration program development, acting as a bridge to connect the two.
